We would like to thank Heather Wales, Owner/Operator of Down to Earth Pottery for her gracious support and for providing the demo to our group as well. Following the brief general meeting, Heather will be demonstrating her technique and steps for smudge firing. It will include her process for making/applying Terra sigilatta and firing (bisqued in advance) several pieces in her outdoor fire pit.
An example of one of her smudge fired pots will be provided. This is DEMO only, no need to bring bisqued pieces.
Our meeting will kick off with the potluck for the first half hour or so allowing time for sign-in, nametags, raffle tickets, and socializing. Following the potluck, we will have our general meeting. Please bring ideas and suggestions for discussion.
We will also have our Cool Tool raffle for an awesome pottery related item. This raffle is free and always a member favorite.
Our lending library will be available for members to "check out" resources for review and home use between meetings. If you have suggestions for items to be added to the member library, please don't hesitate to make that suggestion.
Consider inviting a friend to the meeting to share in the educational experience and cultivate the love of all things clay.
We look forward to seeing you all at the meeting. Please let us know if you have any ideas for workshops, demos, gallery visits, field trips...anything! We want this organization to meet your needs.
Best Regards,
Cindy Ward
Secretary
